Linde Activities Center
Effective 5/13/24: The LAC is closed for the summer and will reopen fall 2024.
The Ronald and Maxine Linde Activities Center (informally known as the LAC) is a hub for activities and wellness on Harvey Mudd’s campus. In the LAC, you can use the weight room, play board games, catch a CMS volleyball or basketball game, take a physical education class, participate in a wellness event or just hang out. This facility is not open to the public.
The LAC is comprised of a gymnasium, aerobics room, weight room, computer lab, lounge and a game room. You can check out Mudderbikes, sporting equipment, tools, camping equipment and lots more!

LAC Student Supervisors
The LAC student supervisors (known as LAC SUPS) are the student staff who work to maintain and improve the facilities. As a team, LAC SUPs are responsible for managing the LAC’s budget, attending weekly meetings with Dean Chris, greeting students upon entry and asking them to swipe in and completing all assigned tasks to keep the LAC open and running.

LAC Tournaments & Events
The LAC will be hosting several athletic events and tournaments open to all 5C students throughout the 2024-2045 academic year. Notably, the 2nd annual Dean Chris Classic (DCC) basketball tournament, a 16-team, 5v5 double-elimination event featuring a 3-point shootout, half-court shot competition, exciting outdoor water games, concessions, t-shirt prizes, and more! This year, the DCC is teaming up with MuddLife’s Springfest carnival event to create an unforgettable experience for 5C students.
Additionally, the LAC team is organizing spikeball, pool, ping-pong, zorb ball, and indoor/beach volleyball events. *Further details and updates on these tournaments can be found below:

LAC Tournament & Event Planning Supervisor

Charlie is joining the LAC this year as a supervisor for the planning, budgeting, and coordination of all athletic events and tournaments. Currently serving as Pitzer College’s Athletics Commissioner, as well as a member of Pomona-Pitzer’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a 5C Club Sports Event Manager, Charlie is actively engaged in the greater Claremont athletic community, bringing a strong background in organizing and supporting athletic initiatives. His leadership and dedication to fostering inclusive, student-centered events support the LAC’s commitment to providing an engaging athletic experience for all students.
